My Maternity shoots are 100% tailored to you. Some women feel amazing during pregnancy and are happy to bare all, while others prefer a more modest shoot which can take place at home or outdoors. Every shoot is so personal and I welcome partners and children who want to get involved.

Welcome Home
A little different to a traditionally posed newborn shoot, my style captures a more natural picture of you and your new family in the relaxed and comfortable setting of your own home. The shoot lasts around 45 minutes to an hour and is completely led by the baby. Every shoot is tailored to you and your new arrival.

I don’t include any props in my newborn shoots, all the attention is rightly on the baby! I will bring along my selection of earth-coloured Muslin blankets if you wish to wrap your precious bundle up throughout your shoot. I usually advise wearing neutral colours and avoiding distracting prints. Wearing white/cream, black, neutrals or pastels works well. White is timeless and complements the newness and innocence of your new arrival. Neutral shades work well to keep the attention on the baby and away from your clothing. Pastels also have that “new baby” look and are great if you want to coordinate your outfits with the nursery. There is nothing better than a baby’s bare skin so please feel free to have your baby nude or in a nappy and wrapped in a blanket (accidents are all part of the fun).
Make Yourself At Home
The beauty of these shoots is that they are super laid back as they are all done in your own home. Make yourselves comfortable and find somewhere you can all relax. Lots of people choose to be on a sofa or bed, if so try and keep cushions and accessories neutral in order to keep the focus on the baby. Windows work well so you may want to clear the space around your window to keep the shot simple. Nurseries are also a great place to start. Take some time to observe the light in your house at various times in the day, look for interesting shadows and little pockets of light.
All Together Now
My family shoots are extremely laid back and can be done at home or at an outdoor location of your choice. I go at the pace of you and your children, yet typically shoots last around an hour. We can walk, play and explore your favourite location. My style is simply to take photographs of natural candid moments between children and their families, so in years to come your family have beautiful memories to look back on.
